I am once again seeking the honor of serving as your District 1 State Representative. I am a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, born in Columbus, Kansas, and a graduate of Riverton High School. I earned my associate degree from Coffeyville Community College and my bachelor's degree from Kansas State University.
My wife and I have been married for 30 years and are blessed with three wonderful children. We live and work on our family farm, which was established in 1912, where we raise Angus cattle. In addition to ranching, I have spent 10 years in the construction industry building and repairing homes, 7 years installing heating and air conditioning systems, and 10 years serving as the Cherokee County Agricultural Agent for Kansas State University. In that role, I worked closely with agricultural producers, local businesses, homeowners, and schools to strengthen our communities and support economic growth.
Today, I continue that commitment to service as the Director of Economic Development for Cherokee County, working to create opportunities and promote a strong future for our region.

First and foremost, I am pro-life. I believe every human life is precious and worthy of protection, regardless of background, circumstances, or origin. This conviction is rooted in my faith in God and my belief that every person is created with inherent value and purpose. God demonstrated the immeasurable worth of human life through His love for us, sending His Son to redeem humanity by dying for our sins. Throughout Scripture, children are portrayed as a blessing, and Christ Himself said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
I believe we are judged not only by how we treat the strong and successful, but also by how we protect the most vulnerable among us. There is no one more vulnerable than an unborn child, completely dependent on others for care and protection. From the moment of conception, a new human life begins its journey of growth and development. Just as a seed planted in fertile soil begins the process of becoming a mature plant, a newly conceived child begins the remarkable process of becoming the unique person he or she was created to be. Though small and unseen, that life is no less valuable.
Because I believe life begins at conception, I believe it deserves legal and moral protection. Every child represents a future filled with possibilities, relationships, achievements, and contributions that only that individual can make. The right to life is the foundation upon which all other rights depend.
A society that fails to value human life at its earliest stages risks undermining the very principles on which human dignity is built. If we do not defend the innocent and voiceless, who will? Every life matters. Every person has value. Every child has a purpose. As a candidate, I will stand unapologetically for the protection of life and for policies that support mothers, families, and children, because a culture that values life is a culture that values human dignity itself.
America was founded on the principle of opportunity. We are fortunate to live in a country where many can only dream of the freedoms and possibilities we enjoy. However, equality should not be mistaken for equal outcomes; rather, it should mean equal opportunity for all. True equality provides everyone with the chance to succeed based on their own efforts and talents, not guaranteed identical results, which is a hallmark of socialism.
I believe our government has grown too large, which in some cases has hindered opportunities for individuals to thrive. As Ronald Reagan famously said, “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” By reducing the size and scope of government, we can create more opportunities for people to excel.
The Importance of Personal Accountability
Personal accountability is crucial for the success of businesses, families, sports teams, and especially our nation. Instead of offering handouts, we should focus on giving others a hand-up, empowering them to achieve their goals.
Redefining Success
Currently, the government often measures success by how many people rely on its programs. However, I believe success should be defined by how many citizens no longer need government assistance. By fostering an environment rich with opportunities, we help individuals become self-sufficient and achieve success without relying on government aid. This version of success restores dignity, pride, and self-worth to individuals, empowering them to take control of their own lives.
Together, we can build a country where opportunity abounds, and every person has the chance to succeed on their own merits.
